What enters your reality.
Why some details become impossible to ignore while others never reach your awareness.

ATTENTION / MEMORY / MEANING
Same event. Different reality.
A BOOK ABOUT THE REALITY YOU EXPERIENCE
How Attention, Memory, Expectation, and Meaning Build the Reality You Experience
by Elian Vorellan
Your attention selects. Your memory edits. Your expectations predict. Explore what happens between an event and the meaning you give it — and learn to look again.
Taxes included.
A DIFFERENT WAY TO LOOK
“Stories rarely introduce themselves as stories. They arrive wearing the clothes of facts.”
WHAT YOU'LL EXPLORE
Why some details become impossible to ignore while others never reach your awareness.
Why remembering is not the same as replaying — and why that distinction matters.
How the person you believe you are shapes what you notice and attempt.
How your predictions quietly influence your behavior and the evidence you encounter.
Examine meaningful coincidences with curiosity, without giving up critical thinking.
Separate what happened from what you decided it meant.
MORE THAN AN IDEA
No rituals. No forced affirmations. No requirement to believe.
Small observations invite you to examine your own attention, memory and interpretations in ordinary life.
The goal is not positive thinking.
It is broader seeing.
THE OBSERVATION

I expected this to lean heavily into manifestation and vague spiritual claims, but it really doesn't. The book keeps asking you to separate what happened from what you decided it meant. That sounds simple, but I caught myself doing it constantly after reading the first few chapters.

Some parts felt familiar from psychology books I've read before, but the way the ideas are connected made them useful again. The Reality Chain was the part I actually wrote down. I don't agree with every interpretation around synchronicity, but I liked that the author doesn't force one explanation.

What I liked most is that the book doesn't try to convert you into a skeptic or a spiritual person. It gives you questions. I found that much more interesting than another book promising that your thoughts secretly control everything.

This isn't really a book to speed through. A few sections made me stop and think about situations from months ago. I gave it four stars because there are places where the same core idea returns more than once, but overall it felt deliberate rather than repetitive.

The opening idea stayed with me: most of what happens around us never becomes part of our reality because we don't notice it. After that, normal situations started feeling different. I noticed how quickly I focus on one negative detail and let it define the whole interaction.
BEFORE YOU BEGIN
The Shape of What You Notice explores how attention, memory, identity, expectation, and meaning shape the reality you experience.
Through practical ideas and thought-provoking exercises, Elian Vorellan shows how quickly facts become stories, stories become beliefs, and beliefs begin influencing what happens next.
A book about perception, consciousness, synchronicity, and learning to see more clearly.
THE SHAPE OF WHAT YOU NOTICE
You may not control everything that happens. But you can learn to see what happens between the event and the meaning you give it.
